Hi! Edwin here to talk about the Malaysia My Second Home Program, (MM2H).
MM2H is a Ministry of Tourism’s initiative to promote foreign settlement in Malaysia. Upon meeting certain criteria, a foreigner may stay in Malaysia as long as he wishes on a multiple entry social visit pass as well as enjoy various incentives for property purchase, car purchase and education.
The requirements to participate in MM2H are mostly monetary requirements to show that you have the financial ability to live in Malaysia in case you are unemployed due to unforeseen circumstances.
The more prominent incentives that you may get if you participate in this program are as follows:
- allowed to bring in your car without paying import tax or
- purchase a local assembled car without needing to pay excise duty and sales tax
- allowed to purchase more than one property (subject to minimum price of RM 500,000)
